Is the Ice Rink real ice and is it an open- air Ice Rink?
Yes, the ice is real and it is an open-air ice rink, so please wrap up and dress for the weather.
What size of ice skates are available?
We have ice skates ranging from size 1 to 13. For little feet we have skate clips available.
How do I purchase a ticket for the Ice Skating and are your skates included in your ticket?
You can purchase your ticket online and this you can do up to 24 hours in advance. Tickets can also be purchased on the day of your visit from the Ice-Skating Box Office situated next to the Ice-Rink, subject to availability. Yes, your ice skates are included in your ticket purchase.
When buying online, do I need to print out my ticket/s?
No need to print ticket/s, your ticket/s can be redeemed from your mobile device. Present this at the ice-skating Box Office, situated next to the Ice Rink. Please arrive early to allow the team to retrieve your booking and to ready yourself for the ice.
When do and how long do the ice-skating sessions last for?
Skating sessions start promptly on the hour and last for approx. 45 minutes. Please arrive in plenty of time to redeem or purchase ticket/s, sign our safety disclosure and ready yourself for the ice.
What are ticket prices and options for the Ice Skating?
We have Peak and Off-Peak sessions. Peak sessions are Friday’s, Saturday’s, Sunday’s and all days from 19 Dec until 4 Jan. All other dates are off-peak. Adult (16+) Peak online £13.50 & on the day £15.50. Child Peak online £11.00 & £13.00 on the day. Off-Peak adult (16+) online £10.80 & on the day £12.80. Child off-peak online £8.30 & on the day £10.30.
Do you have any suitable sessions for younger visitors?
Yes, we are offering a few sessions where you can book an adult & child (under 5) skating session. These are available on Friday 28 Nov 3.00pm session & Friday 5 December 3.00pm session. These are available to book online at £15.00 & £17.00 on the day, subject to availability, therefore it’s advisable to book online. The ticket price is for the adult and child.
Can I change or cancel my tickets?
All tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. If you are no longer able to come along you can gift your tickets to family or friends and there is no need to change the name on the booking.
What happens if the event is cancelled?
If the event is cancelled a full refund will be issued. We will contact all visitors by e-mail with information on the cancelled date/session and to clarify when a refund will be issued. There will be no need to contact us we will do this automatically. Keep an eye on our FB page as we will make announcements and updates here.
What happens if I cannot find my booking?
No problem, please go to the ice-skating Box Office on the date and time of your booking and the team will retrieve your order. Please arrive early to allow us time to retrieve your booking.
Are there any special offers on tickets for the ice rink?
Yes, all Glasgow citizens who wish to book an ice-skating session can do so online or on the day and receive a 10% discount. When booking online please use discount code GXMAS25 and this will automatically discount your booking. If buying in person on the day (subject to availability) of your visit please use the discount code. Please note that whether you buy online or on the day you must bring proof of staying in the Glasgow area. This could be a driving license, letter or anything with your name and address on it.
I have selected additional items when purchasing my ice-skating ticket, how do I collect these?
When redeeming your booking for the ice skating at the Box Office, you will be issued with tickets/vouchers explain where you can redeem these.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The ice rink is assessed every morning and monitored every day and will only operate when safe to do so. If we should have to cancel and close the ice rink we will contact everyone who has booked by e-mail to make them aware and issue a full refund.
Do you offer concession tickets?
We do not offer concession tickets for the ice-skating.
Is there help for younger skaters?
Skating aids are available to hire on the day, subject to availability. These cost from £5.00
Is the ice-rink accessible for wheel chair users?
Yes, the ice rink is fully accessible for wheel chair users.
Do you offer ASN sessions and how do these work?
ASN sessions are available to book online. The ASN dates are available on Sunday 30 Nov, 11.00am session and Friday 5 Dec 2.00pm session. The ice rink will be working to reduced capacity, with quieter music for a more comfortable skating experience.
Are there age restrictions for using the ice rink?
All under 8’s should be accompanied on the ice by someone over 16 at all times. Under 12’s must have a parent or guardian over the age of 18 present within the skate centre during the skating session.
Do you have skating Marshalls and a first aider on site?
Yes, skating Marshall’s and a first aider will be on site throughout the event.
Can I take a bag on the ice rink?
A small shoulder bag that you can secure under your coat would be ok, however anything else will no be allowed on the ice, purely for safety reasons.
Does everyone in your group need ice skating tickets?
No, only those using the ice need to purchase a ticket. Everyone is welcome to come along to the event (entry is free), spectate, shop and enjoy some of our festive food and drink offering. All subject to capacity.
Do you provide safety equipment?
No, please feel free to bring your own, knee pads, gloves, you can also bring along your own ice skates.

When is Glasgow’s Winter Wonderland at St. Enoch Square open?
Glasgow’s Winter Wonderland at St. Enoch Square opens from Thursday 6th November until Wednesday 24th December. Sunday – Thursday we are open from 12 noon until 9.00pm and Friday’s and Saturday’s 10.00am until 10.00pm. Please note Christmas Eve we close at 8.00pm.
How do I get there?
Central Station & Queen Street Station are a short walk from Glasgow’s Winter Wonderland at St. Enoch Square. To find out all transport links you will find the information here
Is there a designated entrance point to Glasgow’s Winter Wonderland at St. Enoch Square?
The main entrance is from Argyle Street and is signposted.
Are there toilets situated here?
Yes, there will be toilets and accessible toilets too.
Is there alcohol available?
Yes, we have an incredible, under cover fully licensed festive bar. With some fabulous music and live entertainment throughout the event. We also have some amazing suppliers who will be selling bespoke festive drink hampers an ideal Christmas gift.
I’m a wheelchair user, is the site accessible?
Yes, the site is fully accessible, including the Festive bar. Our solar wheel has an accessible capsule too.
Will there be opportunities to do some Christmas shopping?
Yes, we have a fabulous selection of artisan festive gift and craft vendors, if you are looking for something a bit different.
Will there be places to eat and drink?
Yes, we have a varied selection of venders selling food and drink, something for everyone. Delicious Churros, Dutch pancakes, loaded donuts, Turkiye Efes Glasgow is also supporting Glasgow’s Winter Wonderland at St. Enoch Square too. Plus, lots more festive goodies.
Will there be festive rides and attractions at Glasgow’s Winter Wonderland at St. Enoch Square?
Yes, we are so proud to announce, for first time is Scotland we have a solar powered giant wheel. In addition, we have lots of family friendly children’s rides including the Flying Balloons, children’s carousel and lots more.

Head for the McLennan Arch, situated next to our giant observation wheel.
Is there an entry fee to Glasgow’s Winter Wonderland on the Green?
Entry to Glasgow’s Winter Wonderland is totally free and you only pay for the facilities and events you want to experience.
What are the key attractions and events on site at Glasgow’s Winter Wonderland on the Green.
Enjoy the views from our giant observation wheel with fully enclosed capsules. Family and children’s rides include festive Candy Cane Bungee Trampolines, Flying Balloon Tower, Carousel and more. We have a variety of thrill attractions too, Air Thrill Ride, Venetian Flying Chairs, the Mad Mouse roller coaster… A fabulous open-air ice rink, fully inclusive and suitable for the whole family.
Do you have festive entertainment planned?
We have lots of family entertainment all presented in our amazing Festive Big Top Live! circus tent. Cinder’s Fella – A Folksy Mini Panto. 45-minutes of fast-paced, laugh out loud retelling of the classic Cinderella with plenty of sparkle for the whole family. Jingle Around the World – A Festive Sensory Story by Folksy Theatre. These 30-minute festive sensory story telling sessions blend interactive play with the audience, live music and songs, puppets and props.
Is there festive food and drink at the event?
We have a huge selection of food and drink vendors on site, something for everyone, including a festive bar with live entertainment throughout the event, churros, hot chocolates with all the trimmings, humble crumble delicious deserts and lots of other festive goodies.
Will I be able to do some Christmas shopping at Glasgow’s Winter Wonderland on the Green?
We have some fabulous artisan vendors including fabulous festive decorations, bespoke gifts and crafts.
What is available for the ASN community?
We have two Ice-skating sessions, two performances of our Jungle Around the World sensory story telling sessions and two performances of our Cinder’s Fella – A Folksy Mini Panto (45-minutes of pure festive fun) all ASN friendly. Working to reduced capacity, toned down sound and lighting, to make for a more comfortable visit. There will also be Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity sensory bus on site and the Changing Place mobile unit available during these times. If these sessions reach their limit, we will look at the possibility of opening up other sessions/performances, subject to demand.
Are there toilet facilities on site?
Yes, we have toilets and accessible toilets throughout the site, these will be sign posted.
